Chew Joo Chiat 周如切 is my great grand-father. My family tree in Singapore begins with him. The purpose of this blog is for my children and grand children to know their root's humble beginning. Secondly, there are inaccuracies and gaps I discovered published in books, articles and websites about Chew Joo Chiat. I also want to talk about some lost landmarks in Joo Chiat.
I'm Nicolle and Chew Joo Chiat is my paternal great great grand-uncle. According to my grandfather, following the Joo generation was the Cheng generation. Following that, was the Ann generation and then the Peng generation. Next was my generation (I think we're all kind of young, considering how I'm only 15), where the naming tradition was unfortunately lost. (Though you probably already know all this) I'm not too sure about the matters concerning the completion of the family tree though but I'll to thank you for making this blog :) It's wonderful to learn about my family history, especially when it's as rich as this.
